Small weddings, elopements & adventure sessions in Alaska

Hey, I'm Carissa! Alaska Elopement Photographer
I’m so excited that you are dreaming up an elopement in Alaska. Alaska is one of my favorite places in the world, and one of the best places for an elopement.
With ancient glaciers, wildlife everywhere you look, and wild landscapes, Alaska truly is an absolute wonder of a place.
Planning an elopement can feel overwhelming, but that’s what I’m here for! Think of me as your guide - I’ll help you find the incredible secret spot to say your vows, awesome local vendors to bring your dreams to life, and provide assistance with all the logistics and details that go into planning an unforgettable experience. I’ve helped plan elopements all over the world, and have a lot of experience crafting meaningful, intentional elopement days.

Why elope in Alaska?
Alaska is the perfect place to elope if you are the kind of couple that prioritizes adventure, and experiences, over things. With vast open landscapes, blue glaciers carving through the mountains, lush vegetation, and turquoise blue lakes, Alaska truly makes the perfect backdrop for a ceremony.
Not only is it a beautiful place to say your vows, but there is also SO much to do. Seriously, you could never see it all. From taking boating excursions out to the Kenai Fjords National Park, spotting wild orcas, and seals resting on icebergs, to trekking on the Matanuska Glacier (one of the most incredible experiences of my life), or kayaking through lagoons filled with ice caves, and icebergs, you could never get bored in Alaska!

Best time of year to elope in Alaska
One of the most amazing things about Alaska is the incredible diverse seasons you can experience throughout the year!
In the summer months you'll find warmer temps, foggy weather, meadows full of gorgeous Fireweed everywhere you look, walkable glaciers and long daylight hours.
By September, you'll start to see the leaves begin to turn! The weather will start to get a little more chilly, and you might even get a dusting of snow! Fall in Alaska is vibrant and gorgeous, although it doesn't last very long!
Winter is the longest season in Alaska, and although the window of daylight hours is short, there is still so much you can do! This is the perfect time of year to elope in a winter wonderland, with fun winter activities such as snowmobile safaris, and husky sledding. Of course you also might spot the northern lights!
Where to elope in Alaska

This will probably be one of the hardest parts about this whole process! Alaska is huge, with such a diversity in landscapes, ranging from ancient glaciers, to coastal fjords. Here are a few of my favorite options to help you get started:
Glaciers:
Did you know you could actually get married while you stand on a 20,000 year old glacier? Imagine saying your vows, with the sounds of the glacier calving under your own feet.
Mountains:
Alaska has so many incredible hikes, and mountain passes that would be perfect for an elopement. Hatcher's Pass is one of my favorite spots I explored. Imagine vast, lush green valleys, wildflowers everywhere, and pristine mountain air.
Helicopter Tour:
This is probably the single coolest way to get married. Imagine taking a helicopter out to the most remote, otherwise completely inaccessible locations in all of Alaska, and saying your vows while you stand in a spot that no one else has ever been.

Best places to stay for your Alaska elopement
Alaska might be rugged and off the grid, but there are still tons of incredible lodging options throughout the state. Here are a few of my favorite options:
Salted Roots Cabins - Seward, Alaska
Aurora Villa - Fairbanks, Alaska
Hatcher's Pass Cabins - Palmer, Alaska
Air-Bnb with a sauna - Anchorage, Alaska
Alpenglow Luxury Camping - Glacier View, Alaska
Sheldon Chalet - Denali National Park, Alaska
