There are tons of incredibly historic mountain towns to explore like Ouray, Telluride, and Aspen. There's also so many national parks to check out, such as Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The opportunity for adventure is truly endless in Colorado.

I’m so excited that you are dreaming up an elopement in Colorado. I grew up spending my summers exploring the mountains of Colorado, covered in dirt, chasing chipmunks and Jeeping into the mountains to discover hidden waterfalls, alpine lakes, and meadows full of wildflowers. Now I get to bring my eloping couples to those same secret spots I was discovering 20 years ago, for their own dream elopement experience.
With stunning mountain peaks, rugged landscapes, and spectacular scenery, I firmly believe that Colorado is one of the best places in the world to elope. Weddings here are just special.

I'll help you find the perfect location
I have lists on lists of incredible spots that I have scouted over the years, that would be perfect for an elopement. Whether you want a sweeping valley covered in wildflowers, a secluded alpine lake, or a remote mountain peak, I've got a spot in mind. My standards are high, and almost all of my favorite spots are usually empty, so rest assured you'll get some incredible recommendations from me.

Beyond location scouting, I'm here to help with every step of the planning process. I love hopping on Zoom with my couples to drink beers and plan together. I'll also send you amazing local vendor recommendations, help you find unique accommodations, and work with you to plan a timeline for the day. My goal is always to help you plan an intentional experience that reflects YOU.

I take a unique approach to every wedding day, and while you might even forget the camera is there, you can rest assured I'll be creating art out of your adventure. Planning your Colorado elopement
Where to elope in Colorado
Colorado has SO much diversity in the landscape. Here are a few of my favorite Colorado elopement locations:
The San Juan Mountains:
The San Juan Mountains of Colorado are home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the entire state, with jagged mountain peaks, turquoise alpine lakes, cascading waterfalls, and wildflowers everywhere. This is also the Jeeping capitol of the country, meaning that there are hundreds of Jeeping trails that allow you to access some of the most remote, wild landscapes without needing to hike! I am lucky enough to call this area of Colorado home, and specialize in helping couples have the elopement experience of their dreams here. This area of Colorado is always my top recommendation for an elopement.

Colorado National Monument:
The Colorado National Monument is one of the most underrated places to elope in Colorado. It has a similar landscape to Moab, with red rocks, deep canyons and desert vistas, but without all the crowds! This place is a total hidden gem.

Rocky Mountain National Park:
Rocky Mountain National Park has some of the most breathtaking views in all of Colorado. If you elope here you'll have to deal with stricter permit regulations and heavy crowds, but in my experience, it is well worth it!
The Great Sand Dunes National Park:
Colorado is home to one of the largest sand dunes in the entire country. This spectacular national park is the perfect place to have a super unique elopement experience surrounded by miles of sand - you will feel like you are in the Sahara desert!

Best time of year to elope in Colorado
As a Colorado Elopement Photographer, I have a lot of experience with the different seasons out here, and what works best for an elopement!
Mid July - Mid August is the best time to elope in Colorado if you want a warm summer elopement! At this point in the summer almost all of the trails will be accessible for an elopement, and the wildflowers will be in full bloom! This is also the rainiest time of year, so there will be waterfalls cascading down the mountainside and everything will be lush and green.
If you want to elope in the fall, then I recommend planning your elopement at the end of September - early October. This is the best time of year to catch the peak of the fall colors, meaning everything will be vibrant yellow, orange and red! The weather will be a bit more chilly this time of year. and the mountains will likely be dusted in fresh snow, which is absolutely breathtaking.
January - March is an excellent time of year to plan for a winter wonderland elopement! This is when Colorado experiences the best snow! Although it's winter, it's typically pretty sunny, and the temperatures are usually more mild than you might expect!
